With God, all things are possible.

Today, Angela celebrates her 4th Birthday. It's been four years since I'd accepted the Lord as the centre of my life. So lowly, so unworthy, yet the Father continues to bless me in infinite ways. And today, we celebrate Christ's victory over sin and darkness. Because He died for us, our death is destroyed; because He rose, our life is restored.

Alas, I have been tempted and tried by the devil, time and again. Yet the Lord continues to be so patient with me, watching out for me, every step of the way. There is so much more I can do for
Him, but it's always just talk, talk, talk and no action.

Anyhow, I was just talking about the gifts of the Spirit with the girls the other day and I went to do a little research on it. (I know you girls read this space!)

We were on the topic of the ninefold spiritual gifts of the Spirit (which should not be confused with the seven gifts of the Spirit). According to the CCC, "when the work by which the Father gave the Son to do on earth was accomplished, the Holy Spirit was sent on the day of Pentecost in order that he might continually sanctify the Church". The spread of the Gospel thus began and in order for the Church to fulfill her mission, the Spirit bestowed upon her varied hierarchical and charismatic gifts, namely wisdom, knowledge, discerning of spirits, speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, faith, working of miracles and healing.

As aforementioned, these spiritual gifts should not be confused with the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit which have been given to people to "complete and perfect the virtues of those who receive them" as well as to "make the faithful docile in readily obeying divine inspirations" (CCC). The Seven Gifts are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety and fear of God.

For the believers who were unaware, I hope this has helped clear some doubts. For those who do not believe, I hope it's given you an insight of what we believe in :) There's so much more that I've to learn too. My journey had just begun and I have to work hard to make up for my ignorance.

My faith shall not be blind, yet blessed are those who do not see and yet believe. Hope you've had a lovely Easter Sunday today :)
